Due to delays in the building of three important venues that are supposed to host the event, which is planned to start on February 19, 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied claims that the ICC Champions Trophy may be moved from Pakistan.

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi are the locations for the event. Nonetheless, India will play all of its games in Dubai as part of the agreement.

According to a PCB source, the continued presence of a sizable International Cricket Council (ICC) group, which includes representatives from the broadcasting, hotel, and event operations departments, highlights the confidence that the event preparations are moving according to schedule.

“The PCB has spent nearly PKR 12 billion to upgrade our stadiums to make them fitting for an event like the Champions Trophy, which was awarded to us,” he said.

The insider said that a previous announcement on the stadium’s construction status was also made in response to media rumors that the event would be rescheduled due to unfinished site work.

“Our media likewise began displaying similar speculative stories without verifying the facts; therefore, we made the statement. “This would have affected the event’s ticketing and marketing by creating chaos and confusion among the PCB, ICC, government, commercial partners, and fans,” he added.

The official went on to say that a local reporter had taken unapproved footage of the development at Karachi’s National Stadium and painted a poor image.

“The stadium’s work is being monitored closely by the PCB and concerned officials and they would be ready to host the CT matches on time,” he said.
