The Police Radio Operator Recruitment Process issued by UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has been cancelled. The recruitment process has been cancelled by the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court. A single bench of Justice Alok Mathur gave this verdict while hearing the petition of Ravi Shukla.

The court said that the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board does not have the right to change the eligibility standards for recruitment. Changes in eligibility standards can be made at the government level. After the court order, the process will now be started afresh for recruitment to the posts of Radio Operator.

In 2022, recruitment was done for 936 posts of Radio Operator by the Police Recruitment Board. About 80 thousand candidates had applied for this. At the same time, 40 thousand candidates appeared in the examination. The result of the examination was not declared due to the matter going to the court.

When the notification of this recruitment was issued, the qualification of a diploma was sought for the application. Earlier, the then chairman of UP Police Recruitment Board, Renuka Mishra, had passed a proposal for degree holders to apply for this recruitment.
