Buzz takes a close look at Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski’s record against Real Madrid ahead of Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final.

Robert Lewandowski is set to be in the Barcelona XI for Sunday’s 2025 Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia.

Barcelona are the most successful side in the competition, lifting the trophy on 14 occasions, and they will be looking for revenge on Sunday evening, having suffered a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the final of last year’s tournament.

Lewandowski has been in excellent form for Barcelona during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 25 goals and registering two assists in 26 appearances, and he will be aiming to add to the two goals that he has already registered in 2025 in this contest.

The 36-year-old played 73 minutes of his side’s 2-0 success over Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final of the competition on Wednesday night.

Here, Buzz takes a close look at how Lewandowski has performed against Real Madrid during his professional career, as he looks to inspire Barcelona to their first trophy of the 2024-25 campaign.

Lewandowski has faced the capital giants 16 times during his career, boasting a record of six wins, two draws and eight defeats, scoring 10 times and registering three assists in the process.

The forward’s first experiences of facing Los Blancos came during his time at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and he famously scored four times against them in a 4-1 home success for BVB in the semi-finals of the competition back in April 2013.

Lewandowski also tackled Real Madrid three times in the Champions League during his time at Bayern Munich, but he only managed one goal in those encounters and suffered two defeats.

Only eight of his 16 appearances against Real Madrid have come during his time at Barcelona, with five of those taking place in La Liga; Lewandowski’s La Liga record is two wins and three defeats from five games against the Madrid club, including 2-1 and 3-2 losses during the 2023-24 campaign.

However, he scored twice for Barcelona in their 4-0 success over Carlo Ancelotti‘s side at Bernabeu on October 26, 2024.

The forward has faced Real Madrid once in the Copa del Rey, meanwhile, suffering a 4-0 loss in 2022-23, while he has netted twice and provided one assist in two Spanish Super Cup games against Los Blancos, including a goal in a 4-1 defeat to the capital outfit in January 2024.
