Vietnam is on cloud nine these days after experiencing record breaking tourism in 2024. The country now aims at attracting 23 million international tourists in 2025, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. As per the government, this target represents a 31% hike from 2024 and would bring about 5 million more visitors compared to 2019’s total of 18 million. BMI Research predicts the country’s tourism industry will fully recover by 2025.

In 2024, the number of Indian visitors to Vietnam surged to 501,000. This growth has placed India as one of the fastest-growing markets for Vietnam's tourism. Vietnam welcomed 17.5 million international visitors in 2024, a 39.5% rise from the previous year. Visitors from Asia made up around 80% of the total foreign arrivals.

The Vietnamese government has set tourism as a key sector to drive the country’s economic growth, with efforts underway to enhance the industry's infrastructure and global appeal.
