In the Welterweight (60–65 kg) class, Assamese representative Thapa continued his impressive play by beating Himanshu Sangwan 5-0, while former World Youth Champion Sachin put on another strong performance in his own fight, defeating Kingson Pukhrambam of Manipur by the same score.

One of the tournament’s most notable players so far is Rajasthan’s Devendra Solanki. In the Flyweight (47–50 kg) division, Solanki once again showed his talent and tenacity by winning the title for the third time in a row.

By a unanimous vote, he defeated Zorammuana of Mizoram to go to the round of eight. A significant shock was pulled by Himachal Pradesh’s Abhinash Jamwal, who advanced to the quarterfinals with a resounding 5-0 victory against Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) 2022 Youth World Boxing Champion (63.5 kg) Vanshaj Kumar.

Returning to the ring, Gopi of Punjab ended Govind Sahani’s remarkable run by defeating the silver medalist from the Strandja Memorial in Round 3 of the Flyweight division.

In the meanwhile, Bhanu Prakash of Andhra Pradesh advanced to the next round after putting up a spectacular display by defeating Umesh Chavan of Goa by knockout.

All things considered, the Services Sports Control Board had another successful day as they maintained their hold on the title. In addition to Sachin, SSCB’s dominance in the tournament was further cemented when Hitesh Gulia (Light Middleweight), Deepak (Welterweight), Jugnoo (Cruiserweight), and Vishal (Heavyweight) all won to guarantee their places in the semifinals.
