For train and travel enthusiasts, and those planning to travel to Jammu and Kashmir, here is good news: Indian Railways has unveiled a specially designed Vande Bharat Express train tailored for the challenging winter conditions of Jammu and Kashmir. The train, which will operate on the Katra-Srinagar route, was introduced by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The new Vande Bharat Express features that will make travel a bit more comfortable during the harsh winters. Unlike the existing fleet of 136 Vande Bharat trains running across India, this new train has advanced heating systems to address operational challenges in sub-zero temperatures. The special mechanisms prevent the freezing of water tanks and bio-toilet tanks, as well as there are systems to supply warm air to laboratories and vacuum systems. The air-brake system has also been enhanced to ensure smooth operations during extreme weather.
