This fort is spread over about 1.5 square miles on top of the hill, from where you can see a spectacular view of Amer city.

History of Amer Fort
Amer Fort is situated exactly parallel to Jaigarh Fort and both these forts are connected by a causeway below. The purpose of building it was to protect the fort from enemies. The first construction of Amer Fort was started by Raja Kakil Dev in the 11th century, but later it was completed by Raja Man Singh in 1592. Amer Fort is a monument of the medieval period.

Mansingh Mahal- This is the oldest palace of Amer Fort, which was built by Raja Mansingh. Which is worth seeing.

Diwan-e-Aam of Amer Fort- As soon as you enter the Amer Fort, there is a very big rectangular building made of forty marble pillars. It is said that the king's court used to be held here. This building was built by Raja Jai ​​Singh.
Suhag Temple- There are many big windows on the top floor of Amer Fort. Which is known as “Suhag Mandir”. From these windows, queens and women used to watch the royal court and other events.

Not only Bollywood but also many Hollywood films have been shot in this fort of Rajasthan. Which includes films like Bajirao Mastani, Shuddh Desi Romance, Mughal-e-Azam, Bhool Bhulaiya, Jodha Akbar.
