The opportunity in the Tottenham first team Alfie Dorrington has been waiting for could possibly arrive on Sunday afternoon. Fresh from Wednesday evening's brilliant 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, Ange Postecoglou's side start their FA Cup campaign away at National League side Tamworth.

The fixture will allow the head coach to rotate some of his players ahead of Wednesday evening's North London Derby at Arsenal, . Postecoglou is so short on centre-back options right now and it seems the ideal time to share the minutes between Archie Gray and Radu Dragusin as the Australian will not want to push the duo too much and see the numbers in the treatment room increase in the process.

When asked in his pre-match press conference if this weekend's FA Cup tie is an opportunity to see some of the younger players such as Dorrington, Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, .

"No, it gives me an opportunity to pick a team who I think will win a game of football for us," he stated. "The ones who will play will be the ones who will do that.

"It’s good getting Mikey (Moore) back and I think it is important we will give him some game time on the weekend but aside from that it will be a team who most importantly we think can get us through to the next round."

When asked further about Dorrington, said: "Alfie is training with us and he has been around the first-team squad and part of the first-team squad. He had a pretty significant injury which kept him out of football for quite a while. But he is part of the squad and he probably needs to get some game time so we will look for a loan for him."

So, with a loan deal potentially in the pipeline for the academy ace, football.london takes a look at Dorrington and some other of the club's talented youngsters who could also depart on loan before the transfer deadline.

Alfie Dorrington

is at the stage now where he needs to get some first-team minutes in senior football to his name. Fellow Spurs youngsters Josh Keeley, Jamie Donley and George Abbott have flourished since heading out on loan this summer and now Dorrington must do likewise.

Overlooked in last weekend's game against Newcastle when Dragusin was replaced at half-time and Djed Spence subsequently moved across to centre-back, it's clear to see that Dorrington does need to depart for the second half of the season. The 19-year-old suffered two hamstring injuries last season and unfortunately had to undergo surgery in May, thus limiting his game time during the summer and also at the beginning of this term.

Spurs should not be short on options for the boyhood Tottenham fan as he is so highly regarded by the club.

Will Lankshear

short-term future may all depend on what Tottenham do in the transfer market this winter. , with PSG ace Randal Kolo Muani someone who is of interest.

Richarlison will also hopefully be back on the pitch very soon, which in turn will ease the load on Dominic Solanke up front and also possibly see Lankshear drop out of the matchday squad in the process, especially if another frontman is to sign on the dotted line. Tottenham are going to have plenty of options if the striker is given the green light to leave temporarily going on the amount of goals he plundered for the club's Under-21s last season.

football.london reported last month that .

Tyrese Hall

missed out on a loan move back in the summer but the opportunity could be there for him in the January transfer market. As reported in December, football.london understands that , with interest coming from Championship, League One and League Two clubs.

Outstanding in his match time in the post-season friendly against Newcastle United back in May, things just didn't work out for Hall in pre-season and he's unfortunately not made the Europa League squad once this season at a time when a number of academy stars have been given the nod. A loan move is exactly what he needs right now.
