Bollywood has given us some iconic legendary actors who are still hailed by fans. Today we are talking about one such actor who had a rough childhood. The actor was adopted by his uncle and aunt who were not blessed with a child. We are talking about the late actor Rajesh Khanna.
Every artist has their journey and Rajesh Khanna also saw his share of ups and downs. He started his career in 1966. Rajesh first began with theater before venturing into Bollywood. He made his debut in Aakhri Khat (1966) which was Indias first official entry for the Academy Awards in 1967. The movie earned him all the love and fame and in no time Rajesh Khanna became the star of the masses. He made girls go gaga over him.
Did you know that Rajesh Khanna arrived late on the shoot set for his first movie? The films shoot was set to start at 8 AM but he reached at 11 AM. However the actor managed to climb the ladder of success and became Indias first superstar holding the record for delivering 15 consecutive hit films. In the 60s and 70s no one could match his popularity.
As for Rajesh Khannas personal life he had a total of six siblings with Rajesh being the youngest. His fathers name was Nandlal Khanna and his mothers name was Chandrani Devi. Rajeshs uncle Chunnilal had no children of his own so he adopted Rajesh. Chunnilal and his wife Leelawati Khanna raised Rajesh Khanna with great care and affection.
After sensational affairs Rajesh Khanna tied the knot with Dimple Kapadia in 1973. It is said that at the time of their marriage Rajesh Khanna was almost twice Dimples age. The couple had two daughters Twinkle and Rinki. However they later separated. Although Dimple never filed for divorce they lived separately.
It is said that in his final days he altered his will ousting his wife from his estate worth Rs 600 crore and leaving all his property to his daughters.
