In preparation for MahaKumbh 2025, devotees on Sunday take a sacred plunge at Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam. The city is still frigid, and fog has spread over the area.

Hemlata Tiwari, a devotee, told ANI, “We are having a great time despite the terrible cold. Here, devotees travel from all across the nation. That I have this chance makes me extremely pleased.

According to devotee Arun Pandey, a number of people from all across the nation have congregated here. “We have the strength to combat this chilly weather because to Sanatana. The only reason we are here is because of God’s blessings. It was here in Prayagraj that we took a sacred plunge.
The Prayagraj district is now surrounded by a multi-layered security system put in place by the Uttar Pradesh Police. According to the police, the program, called “impenetrable security Chakravyuh,” attempts to guarantee the protection of the millions of devotees who are anticipated to attend the event.

645 constables, 234 sub-inspectors, and 71 inspectors are among the more than 1,000 police officers who have been assigned to staff 102 checkpoints along the seven highways that link Prayagraj district to neighboring districts.

The security detail also includes three divisions of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and 113 Home Guards/PRD jawans. In order to identify and stop any possible threats, the routes are constantly monitored by sophisticated surveillance equipment, such as five Vajra vehicles, ten drones, and four anti-sabotage squads.

To improve security, police have set around 2,700 AI-enabled cameras and used underwater drones in and around the Maha Kumbh camping region.

Over 45 crore people are anticipated for the celebration of the Maha Kumbh, which is being held after a 12-year hiatus.
Devotees will congregate at the Sangam, the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the now-extinct Saraswati, to take a sacred bath during the Maha Kumbh. On February 26, the Maha Kumbh will come to an end.

On January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami), the Kumbh’s principal bathing ceremonies (Shahi Snan) will be held.
