Australia has announced a 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. The reins of this team have been given to Pat Cummins, but it is difficult to say at the moment whether he will be able to play the tournament. Jack Fraser has not got a place in the Australian team. Whereas Aaron Hardy and Matthew Short have been included in the team by the selectors. Apart from this, Nathan Ellis has also been successful in making a place in the Champions Trophy team. Champions Trophy 2025 is being organized in Pakistan and UAE from 19 February. Australia has been the winner of this ICC tournament twice.

Cummins captain, but whether he will play or not depends on injury

The selectors have given the reins of captaincy of Australia to Pat Cummins in the Champions Trophy, which is going to be held after 8 years. But despite the selection in the team, it is still not clear for Cummins to play in the tournament due to the ankle injury suffered during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Cricket Australia Chief Selector George Bailey also expressed his apprehension about the injury.

For the Champions Trophy, all the teams have to send their team to ICC 5 weeks before the first match. After that, if the team wants, it can make changes in it a week before the first match. After that, permission has to be taken from ICC to make changes in the team. If Pat Cummins' injury is cured by then, he will remain with the team. Otherwise Cricket Australia will have a chance to make changes in the team.
