School Closed: Due to severe cold and cold waves in Uttar Pradesh, all schools up to class 8 in Ghaziabad district adjacent to Delhi will remain closed till January 18. District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh has issued this order. However, the entire school staff will be present in the school and all the employees will fulfill the responsibilities related to their offices and departments.

The District Basic Education Officer has ordered to keep all board-affiliated schools from class one to eighth closed till January 18 due to the cold in the district. All schools will have to strictly follow the order. If the order is not followed, the schools will come under the purview of action. Earlier, the District Basic Education Officer had issued orders to keep all schools up to class VIII closed till January 11.
This order will apply to all schools.
This order will be applicable to all government and private schools. CBSE, ICSE, and unaided, government, and non-government schools will also be under the purview of this order.
Fear of increasing cold
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning predicting dense to very dense fog in North West India in the next 2-3 days, including Delhi and NCR. Along with this, a yellow alert has also been issued for haze and moderate fog. The department has feared increasing cold, due to which the Ghaziabad administration has decided to keep schools from class 1 to 8 closed.
