The December 30 murder of a cab driver was determined to be a case of mistaken identification by the Lucknow Police. According to police, a lawyer reportedly hired the hitman gang to murder his lover’s family, but they accidentally murdered the incorrect person in the Madehganj neighborhood of the city. Because of his claimed involvement with the lady, the chief accused, Aaftab Ahmad, allegedly planned the murders of the woman’s father and husband.

However, the assailants unintentionally shot Rizwan, a local cab driver. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Raveena Tyagi attested to the seizure of the cell phones, bike, and weapon used in the crime.

Yasir, a gang member, was reportedly recruited by the accused and then subcontracted the work to Krishnakant. Friction between Ahmed and the gang resulted from a mix-up during the execution that resulted in Rizwan’s death. Ahmed withheld the remaining money because of the unsuccessful scheme, despite having paid Rs 2 lakh in advance.

In addition to collecting an illegal handgun, 14 live cartridges, a motorbike, and three phones, police also detained Ahmed, Yasir, and Krishnakant. An investigation into the event is still ongoing.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man is accused of killing his mother and four sisters on New Year’s Day in a hotel in Lucknow. According to the guy, he did it to save his sisters from being trafficked. Arshad, the accused, also shared a video on social media, claiming that the Budaun land mafia and neighbors had taken over their home and intended to sell his sisters.

According to the video, which was purportedly taken after the incident, Arshad acknowledged that his father helped him slice his family members’ wrists and choke them. In addition, he revealed the corpses of the victims and said that three of the sisters were dead and the fourth was close to passing away.
