Khabib Nurmagomedov, a legend in mixed martial arts and one of the best of all time, was recently engaged in a frightening event after being abruptly pulled from his seat and then taken off a Frontier Airlines aircraft in Las Vegas, USA, without being given a plausible explanation.

The incident’s footage, which shows Khabib leaving the plane after a flight attendant asks him to, has gone viral on social media.

Khabib addressed the event and shared his confusion on the social media site X. The unbeaten champion said he didn’t understand why he was asked to leave the aircraft and that even though he could speak and understand English well, he couldn’t understand why he was being forced to leave his seat.

The MMA icon said he was perplexed by the employee’s actions and questioned what would have led to such treatment of him. Khabib said that he was treated rudely and dismissively by one of the flight attendants from the start.

Khabib wrote on X, “I’m not sure if that was based on race, nationality, or something else.”

“I must first make it clear that Fly Frontier, not AlaskaAir, was involved. Even though I can comprehend everything and speak very good English, the woman who asks me questions has been quite unpleasant from the start and still persists in taking me out of my seat. I’m not sure what the basis for it was—racial, national, or anything else,” Khabib said on X.

However, after two minutes of talking, she phoned security, and I was taken off the plane. An hour and a half later, I boarded another airline and headed to my destination. As you can see in the video, I tried my best to remain composed and respectful. However, he added, “Those crew members could just be nice with clients and do better next time.”

“Can you imagine an emergency happens on your plane and you would prefer a ‘perfect’ speaking human instead of one of the greatest athletes of all time because you’re ‘uncomfortable’ with his ability to speak English (which is very good, by the way)?” wrote former lightweight title contender Michael Chandler on X in response to the incident. In addition to being the most physically fit person on the aircraft, I believe that the sole need for sitting in the evacuation row is the ability to say “yes.”

Khabib has continued to participate in the sport even after leaving the ring despite his 29-0 winning streak. He divides his time between his native Dagestan and the United States, where he trains and instructs the next generation of wrestlers.
