ITV Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid shares 'breaking news' announcement

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid and her co-presenter Ed Balls delivered some 'breaking news' on Monday's show.

While discussing the day's top stories, 54-year-old Susanna and 57-year-old Ed touched upon Jeff Bezos' much-anticipated rocket launch.

However, during the reporting, Susanna revealed that Bezos' rocket launch had been delayed as a breaking news banner appeared on screen.

Susanna informed viewers: "This is the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, it's a Blue Origin rocket. It's due to be launched, it's already been delayed twice, it's now been delayed for a third time this morning."

She continued to explain the significance of the launch, saying: "This is after years of setbacks but apparently this is a new phase in the commercial space market. The hope is that the rocket will compete with Elon Musk's SpaceX project", reports .

However, following the report, Susanna had a 'breaking news' update as she added: "Very good, it is expected to launch in 12 minutes time, oh, 32 minutes, I thought it was 7:27am. Oh, it's been delayed again!"

To which a breaking news banner appeared on , saying: "Breaking news: Jeff Bezos rocket launch delayed." Later on the show, Good Morning Britain had more breaking news as they revealed Bezos' rocket launch had been called off.

It comes after Susanna addressed her recent absence from Good Morning Britain. Earlier in December, Susanna took to the show to thank her audience and announce she would be taking an extended break over the holiday season.

Susanna excitedly announced her return to the small screen last week after a three-week hiatus, telling fans last week with an post that she would be back on Monday 6 January.

The TV favourite posted a charming image of a candle in the dark, alongside the caption: "Happy New Year! See you on Monday."

Susanna also revealed she had undergone a new look during her break as she shared a selfie of herself with longer hair.

The presenter penned: "NEW YEAR NEW HAIR! After having THE CHOP in 2023, pop idol Cher told me women should keep their long hair so I am turning back time and going LONG for 2025 with hair extensions put in by @christinabhair. Let me know what you think - and see you tomorrow @."

During her festive break away from Good Morning Britain, filled in for Susanna, presenting alongside Richard Madeley.

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on both ITV and ITV X.
