Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a "big worry" as in the FA Cup - and while football.london's Arsenal fans in say they've always been concerned about the club's goalscoring department, they say that the need for strikers is now desperate if the club want to maintain their level.

Arsenal were dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester United after failing to capitalise on a number of chances, with to put the team ahead. Gabriel Jesus was forced off on a stretcher in the first half , piling pressure on the recruitment time to find a solution in the January transfer window.

Jesus joins Ben White, Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu as potential long-term absentees. Fans now want to see some action taken in the transfer market to ensure that the club don't let their title challenge and a strong performance in the opening stage of the Champions League fade away.

Warning manager Mikel Arteta that the season's success may hinge on now signing a striker this month, commenter JohnnyBravo says: "How many transfer windows have the fans been saying that we need a striker to finish the chances we get? We can't rely on the set pieces to get us goals every match, we need to create better chances in open play and then have a striker to finish them off.

"We have huffed and puffed too many times in the last 6 games and have not been able to put the ball in the net, like a team that is challenging for the title should be. If we don't sign a decent striker in this window we won't win anything and will at best finish second again."

Reader Popovam writes: "We had enough of Havertz, even Odegaard is absolutely awful and Arsenal needs a lot of new players and mostly strikers. The way of playing is stupid - everybody now knows how Arsenal play, and there's no surprise or something which can make us win."

Justicemtazu says: "Lot of wasted chances, and still Arteta believed in someone with such low confidence in front of goal to have a chance again from the spot... Now at Arsenal, defenders are being entrusted to take penalties instead of attacking players... WE NEED STRIKERS or else it's another wasted season."

Olokofm says: "If Arsenal cannot strengthen the left, right and centre forwards, forget about silverware. Arteta should listen to the views and concerns of fans, their contribution to the team can't be underestimated."

Khalildrog0 writes: "If we sell that Havertz and keep Jesus then it could be better, and add another striker on top."

Gunnerssg worries about any further players being sent to the treatment room: "When Odegaard was injured our boys couldn't convert goal scoring chances. It's the same now with Bukayo Saka injured. What will happen then if both key players out injured?"

Have your say! Are Arsenal in danger of fading this season? .
