MP: Over 250 Drivers Tested For Eye Health At Free Camp In Sant Hirdaram Nagar During Road Safety Month

Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 254 truck and heavy vehicle drivers were tested for refraction error and eye diseases at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital in Sant Hirdaram Nagar on Sunday. The drivers were also diagnosed with blood pressure and diabetes.

Eleven drivers were found with cataract, 4 had pterygium disease, 152 drivers had complaints of refraction error, 73 drivers had abnormal blood pressure and 54 had diabetes. Out of these, 35 drivers with weak eye-sight were also provided free spectacles while 80 drivers suffering from eye diseases were given drops.

About 30 drivers suffering from serious eye diseases were advised to go to Sewa Sadan and start their proper treatment. Drivers of buses of inter-state transport service Newgo also attended in large numbers and got their eyes tested. It was part of a free refraction error and eye disease check-up camp, inaugurated by DCP Traffic, Lalghati crossing (Traffic Zone-3), Sanjay Singh.

He said that like previous years, this year also the camp has been organised with the help of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital under Parwah Yojana in Road Safety Month-2025. Periodic eye test of drivers is necessary from the point of view of comprehensive public safety, Singh added. Administrator of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital Anusha Tiwari, senior optometrist Ajay Singh, Sagar Godse and Nilesh Waghmare had also cooperated in organising the camp.
