After , Fortnite developer is back with a new patch for PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch.

Introducing new features and crossovers in all of the different game modes, update 33.20 has a January 14 release date and a 9am GMT UK launch time.

Of course, you won't actually be able to sample any of the new additions until after a period of server downtime, which runs from 9am until around 11am.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what to expect.

"Prepare for devastation!" reads an Epic tweet. "Downtime for v33.20 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand."

As you can see from the tweet below, Godzilla will join the game as a new boss. Kong is also tipped to join the game as part of another new crossover.

Speaking of crossovers, Epic Games has just announced Hatsune Miku as the Icon for Fortnite Festival Season 7. This includes two Hatsune Miku skins, as well as the Beam Emote and the Hatsune Miku Festival Stage.

Fans can also expect new info to leak regarding Fortnite OG Season 2, which is likely to launch towards the end of the month.

Sadly, it's also the end of the snow on the Fortnite map, marking the end of the festive period.

Needless to say, Epic Games will also make a variety of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, which you can see in the patch notes below.

GENERAL

• Incorrect Emote order in the Emote Wheel.

- Emotes assigned to the Emote Wheel may appear in the wrong order, i.e. the Wheel appears to be incorrectly rotated.

• Low-resolution textures on Nintendo Switch

- We have temporarily disabled Postparty recording on Nintendo Switch due to an issue causing low-res textures. We'll let you know once this is fixed and Postparty is re-enabled.

BATTLE ROYALE

• Daigo issuing incorrect Duel rewards.

- After being defeated in a Duel, Daigo offers a Common Holo Twister Assault Rifle or some Wood.

• Players may get stuck in "Toggle Walk" mode at times.

- Sometimes, players may see their character stuck in the "Toggle Walk" mode while trying to run or swim at an intended pace. Sprinting is not affected.

• Players cannot gift OG Pass

- We are aware of an issue where some players may not be able to gift the OG Pass due to a missing button.

• Ranked Quests sometimes do not progress in Ranked Reload.

- Ranked Quests sometimes do not progress in Ranked Reload. This is fixed in the next game update.

BALLISTIC

• Players who join after the Buy Phase may not obtain a Flex Gadget.

- If the player leaves while on the "Waiting For Players" screen and joins in the middle of a match, they may not be able to get a Flex Gadget.

• Walking is not silent.

- The "Walk" movement option does not make footsteps silent.
