Emilia Fox has teased fans with snippets about the lnew series of Silent Witness. The beloved show made a comeback to our screens with its 28th season this month.
Viewers are on eagerly awaiting developments in the story of Dr Nikki Alexander, played by Emilia, and her colleague Jack Hodgson, portrayed by David Caves, especially after his proposal in the previous season's finale.
Emilia graced The One Show alongside Francesca Mills, who plays Kit Brooks, on Monday (January 13). While discussing the fresh series, Emilia suggested that Nikki and Jack's wedding plans might hit some turbulence, revealing her character's difficulties.
"Now, there's that commitment that's been made. And, with this series, we see Jack trying to plan the perfect wedding and Nikki's sort of paralysed by how much there is to put in to arrange a marriage," Emilia told presenters Vernon Kay and Alex Jones.
Delving deeper into her character's challenges, she continued: "So, she doesn't even know where to begin. Kit and Harriett are the observers of what's going on in their relationship and they give their input. We'll see what happens."
The prospect of Nikki and Jack tying the knot has fans excited, following years of their 'will they, won't they' tension. Having worked closely with David in Silent Witness for 13 years, Emilia expressed immense admiration for her fellow actor, reports .
During a conversation with the BBC, she effusively praised her on-screen partnership with Caves, stating: "We both love the show, we never take it for granted and want it to be the best. We have a very similar approach to our work. You can always rely on him for the most amazing performance. He's an incredibly skilled actor, which makes it very easy to play opposite him."
She went on to underscore the profound trust and rapport between them, remarking: "But we also have a familiarity and a trust in each other. I trust him more than any other actor I've ever worked with," and further expressed her appreciation for their bond, saying: "How lucky it is to have that friendship, on screen and off screen. I really love working with him."
