Make fruit jam with the help of this ingredients and method

  • Fruits of your choice (1 kg)
  • Sugar (equal to the weight of the fruit or slightly less)
  • Lemon juice (1-2 teaspoons)
  • water (if needed)
  • Citric acid (optional, to keep the jam fresh longer)

Know the recipe for making fruit jam

  • To make mixed fruit jam, first wash the fruits thoroughly and remove any bad parts.
  • Cut small fruits in half or whole and cut larger fruits into small pieces.
  • If you are using mixed fruits, cut all the fruits into equal sized pieces.
  • After this, add fruits and sugar in a big pan.
  • If the fruits are not releasing much juice, add a little water.
  • Place the pan on medium flame and keep stirring continuously.
  • When the fruits become soft and the mixture starts to thicken, reduce the flame.
  • When the mixture cools down, put it in a blender and make a smooth paste.
  • If you want a few pieces of fruit in the jam, do not blend the mixture completely.
  • Pour the blended mixture back into the pan and cook on medium flame.
  • Keep stirring continuously and check the mixture with a spoon from time to time.
  • When the mixture becomes thick and starts flowing slowly when taken out with a spoon, turn off the flame.
  • Add lemon juice to the thickened mixture. This will enhance the taste of the jam and keep it fresh for a long time.
  • If you want, you can also add citric acid.
