FIR against Atishi for violating MCC ahead of Delhi polls

An FIR has been filed against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi for allegedly breaching the model code of conduct ahead of the assembly elections.
The complaint alleges that she used a government vehicle for personal use during the election period.
The incident reportedly occurred after the Delhi Assembly elections were announced on January 7.

Misuse claim
The FIR was registered after a Public Works Department (PWD) government vehicle was reportedly spotted dropping off election campaign material at the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) election office.
The returning officer has directed police to take immediate action against South-East Divisional Executive Engineer Sanjay Kumar in this regard.
A separate complaint of the alleged misuse of the vehicle has also been lodged by KS Duggal, a resident of Kalkaji.

Election battle
Atishi, who is currently the MLA from Kalkaji, has been renominated to contest from the high-profile seat again.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded veteran leader and former MP Ramesh Bidhuri to take on Atishi in the upcoming elections.
Delhi will go to the polls on February 5, with results to be declared on February 8.
