A serious accident happened at a fair in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh on Monday night, where the bogie of a moving sky swing broke and fell 30 feet down. Five people sitting on the swing were injured in the accident. The injured girl said that she had come to visit the fair with her siblings on Monday evening.

Five people sitting on the swing were injured in the accident. As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the district hospital through an auto rickshaw. Due to the serious condition of one of these people, he has been referred to Saifai Medical College.

Broken swing bogie

The injured girl said that she had come to visit the fair with her siblings on Monday evening. While swinging on the sky swing, suddenly a part of the bogie broke and hung, due to which all the people sitting in the bogie fell down. The injured Vivek said that the operator of the swing had seated more people in a single bogie than its capacity, due to which the bogie's weight increased and it broke.

Identification of the injured

Those injured in the accident include Vivek, his brother Golu (24), sister Radha (15) and two others, Abhay and Siddharth. Abhay is a resident of Friends Colony, Vijay Nagar police station, while Siddharth is a resident of Narayan Nagar. Golu's condition is said to be critical and he has been referred to Saifai Medical College.

The administration inspected

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the general secretary of the exhibition, SDM Sadar Vikram Singh Raghav, CO Sadar Ramgopal Sharma and Tehsildar reached the district hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured. The SDM said that the swing has been inspected and strict action will be taken against the operator of the swing if found guilty.
