UGC Guidelines, Assistant Professor Eligibility: The University Grants Commission i.e. UGC has changed the rules for the recruitment of Assistant Professors. New guidelines have also been issued for this. The new draft of UGC has been prepared keeping in mind the new education policy. Now recruitment for the post of Assistant Professor will be done under the new rules only.

UGC Guidelines, Assistant Professor Eligibility: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has issued new guidelines regarding appointment of faculty, promotion and recruitment of VC in universities and colleges. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has prepared a new draft for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor to implement the New Education Policy 2020. According to this, it will not be mandatory for ME and MTech candidates to qualify for Y NET.

For recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor, candidates with ME i.e. Master of Engineering MTech i.e. and Masters of Technology degree with at least 55 per cent marks will be given direct job (Assistant Professor Recruitment). The requirement of qualifying UGC NET i.e. National Eligibility Test for them is being abolished. Now the candidates will be considered eligible for Assistant Professor recruitment based on the Ph . D.D subject.

Assistant Professor Recruitment: New rules made for recruitment

According to the new guidelines of UGC, preparations are being made to allow candidates to teach based on their highest academic expertise. Candidates who have studied UG and PG in any subject can apply for professor recruitment based on PhD or NET subjects. Similarly, candidates who qualify for NET in subjects other than UG, and PG can teach the same subject in which they have qualified for NET.

VC Recruitment: How will the recruitment for Vice Chancellor be done?

According to the new draft of UGC, now 10 years of teaching experience will not be considered mandatory for appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor (Vice Chancellor Recruitment). Candidates working for 10 years with a good track record in any related field will be considered eligible for the recruitment of Vice-Chancellor. Till now, 10 years of tenure as an educationist was necessary to become the Vice Chancellor of a university.

For promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor, candidates must have a PhD degree. Without this, no candidate will be promoted.
