The ninth stage of the 2025 Dakar Rally was tough — broken roads and rocks. However, this did not stop KTM’s Luciano Benavides from winning his second stage this year, while Nasser AlAattiyah earned the first stage win for Dacia. Frenchman Van Beveren took second, followed by Daniel Sanders on the KTM in third, and defending champion Ricky Brabec in fourth. Howes came in fifth, while Hero’s Nacho Cornejo secured the sixth place.It was a bad day for Honda’s Schareina, who suffered a highspeed crash during the stage. The Spaniard was quick to get back up on his feet and continue the stage, finishing seventh. In the overall standings, Sanders still holds his position, followed by Schareina in second and Van Beveren in third. After two stage wins, Benavides has moved to fourth place overall, ahead of Brabec.It was a difficult day for the cars as well, but the Qattari proved why he is the master of the desert by winning the stage. He was followed by Guillaume De Mevius in second and Al Rajhi in third. Ekstrom came in fourth, while Rokas Baciuska took the fifth place. In the overall rankings after stage 9, it is Yazeed Al Rajhi who now leads, with a sevenminute advantage over Toyota’s factory driver, Lategan.
