Apple founder Steve Jobs wrote to his friend in a letter in 1974, 'I want to go to Kumbh Mela.' This was a deep desire, which he expressed, to connect with the spirituality and culture of India. Steve Jobs tried to fulfill this wish during his 1974 visit to India, but he could never go to the Kumbh Mela. Steve Jobs is no longer among us, but now his wife Lauren Powell Jobs has come to Prayagraj. Has she participated in the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 to fulfill her husband's wish?
Before coming to India in 1974, Steve Jobs wrote a letter to his childhood friend Tim Brown. In this he had expressed his desire to go to India. Jobs especially wanted to go to Kumbh Mela. Recently this letter was auctioned by Bonhams for approximately Rs 4.32 crore.
After the death of Steve Jobs, his wife Lauren Powell Jobs is now carrying forward the spiritual journey left by him. Lauren has come to India to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, and it seems that this trip is to fulfill Steve's old wish. Lauren first visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and then reached Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj to take bath.
There was a small problem during Lauren's trip. She developed allergies on the second day of her visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela, but she accepted the challenge and did not change her decision to take a bath in the river Ganga. Apart from this, she also got the name 'Kamala' from Swami Kailashanand Giri.
Laurene Powell Jobs also participated in spiritual practices like meditation, Kriya Yoga and Pranayam during her visit to India. His visit reflects his deep respect for the spiritual traditions of India. Lauren is not only fulfilling her husband's wish written in the letter, but is also moving forward on her own spiritual journey.
