is reportedly set to thrash out his future in showdown talks today. Reports in the Italian media claim that AC Milan are 'not giving up' on a deal for the England international.

Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are also said to be monitoring Rashford's situation at Old Trafford. The 27-year-old has not played for United in the Premier League since their 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest on December 7.

Rashford returned to the bench for the Red Devils' 2-0 defeat by Newcastle after Christmas but subsequently missed the 2-2 draw with Liverpool and FA Cup victory over Arsenal through illness.

Head coach Ruben Amorim seemingly has little desire to reintegrate Rashford any time soon. A January switch seems increasingly likely and Rashford's future could be resolved in crunch discussions today.

According to , Rashford's entourage are holding talks with United chiefs. It is claimed that a loan departure until the end of the season is not off the table.

Milan are one of the teams interested in a potential switch. The report adds that Milan advisor and former United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 'in no doubt' that Rashford is the right man to complete the Serie A side's attack.

It comes after Ibrahimovic publicly intervened in the speculation, telling Sky Sports: "Rashford? I know him very well. I played alongside him in his youth. He has accomplished remarkable feats with Manchester United and remains one of their standout players.

"Every player dreams of donning the AC Milan jersey, one of the premier clubs globally. However, it's a tricky situation, and we haven't communicated with him yet. We'll see what unfolds."

It is widely thought that Milan believe they lead the race to sign Rashford. They are prepared to ditch a move for Manchester City defender Kyle Walker and prioritise the right-back's England team-mate. Serie A clubs can only register two non-EU players per season.

Rashford made a rare post on social media on Tuesday evening, posting a video of him on an exercise bike at United's Carrington training ground. His situation remains a mystery as he continues to be United's highest Premier League scorer this season, albeit with four.

Only Alejandro Garnacho's eight goals are better than Rashford's seven across all competitions. Both players were dropped for December's Manchester derby but Garnacho has long since returned.
