In fact during a candid interview Shah Rukh Khan once revealed a hilarious prank he pulled on his wife Gauri Khan and her family during their wedding festivities. The Love Story of Shah Rukh Khan & Gauri Khan Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have been married since 1991 and their bond has only grown stronger over the years. Their love story started when Shah Rukh Khan was still building his career while Gauri Khan hailing from a Hindu background was already from a well-known family. Despite belonging to different religions and castes Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khans relationship was founded on mutual respect and love. Even though Gauri Khan’s parents were initially not fond of their relationship they eventually accepted it. The couple tied the knot on October 25 1991 and have been together ever since. SRKs Hilarious Wedding Prank In a conversation with Farida Jalal Shah Rukh Khan recounted a hilarious incident during their wedding reception. According to him some guests were suggesting that Gauri Khan would now change her religion and become a Muslim. Seizing the moment for a playful prank Shah Rukh Khan jokingly told Gauri Khan to wear a burkha and read namaz. He said “Now we will change her name to Ayesha. She will read Namaz and will not step out of the house.” Naturally this sent Gauri Khan’s parents and relatives into shock. Shah Rukh Khan quickly clarified that it was just a joke. However she proudly adopted her husbands surname Khan and added it to her own name. Their Secular Family It’s been over 33 years since Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan tied the knot and their relationship continues to thrive. They have always emphasized the importance of respecting each other’s religion and this secular approach has been instilled in their children - Aryan Khan Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. The couple’s bond remains a beautiful example of love transcending religious boundaries.
