Shoppers on the lookout for a discounted iPad in the January sales may want to find the biggest saving. By ditching the likes of Apple and Sky and shopping at lesser-known retailers, it’s possible to find some hidden gems that can save hundreds of pounds.
We’ve found a great budget-friendly deal at Back Market, a retailer which specialises in refurbished tech like tablets and smartphones. It’s currently offering with 32GB of storage as part of its ‘Verified Refurbished’ scheme.
The iPad is available in three conditions: Fair, Good and Excellent, with prices ranging from £133.08 to £162.55. Opting for the ‘Excellent’ iPad is more than half price compared to the usual £329 asking price for a new model.

One happy customer said: “Ordered ‘good’ and came practically brand new, no issues with the body whatsoever. Also, it came earlier than the expected delivery date. The iPad itself is brilliant for refurbishment. I was a bit worried at first initially as I’d never ordered refurbished tech before, but it definitely exceeded expectations. All for good money, too.”
Another said: “iPad ordered came even better than expected. Only ordered Fair condition and came in pretty much mint with very few signs of wear. Also included fast charger and good quality Lightning cable. Great speedy delivery came faster than I was expecting with no hassles. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for refurbished tech delivered straight to you.”
It’s not all been plain sailing, though, as one less-impressed buyer said: “The iPad came promptly and was well packaged. It was the model ordered but not the colour ordered. The power supply unit included was for a Samsung device, but luckily, we had other Apple products in the house already.”
However, another satisfied shopper said: “I read reviews which helped me to take the leap and buy my iPad and was not disappointed. It arrived in the condition described and is perfect for what I need. I really can’t fault it, or the service.”
The is Apple’s eighth generation of the device. It runs on Apple’s iOS 14 out of the box but can be upgraded to the latest version of the software, iOS 16.
