Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A fire broke out at the High Street Apollo Mall on AB Road in Indore on Wednesday.
According to information, the fire started in the branded clothing store, Rare Rabbit, which had opened just three months ago.
The fire reportedly started late at night, but it went unnoticed for some time.
According to store employees, clothes worth around ₹2 crore were destroyed in the fire.
The employees also mentioned that new stock worth ₹30 lakh had been delivered to the store just the day before.
The fire was discovered in the morning when store staff arrived for cleaning and noticed smoke.
They immediately contacted the fire brigade, but by then, the goods inside the store had already been burnt.
The fire brigade arrived at the scene, but due to the thick smoke, firefighters could not enter the store.
To clear the smoke, they had to break the store's glass windows. After about an hour of effort, the fire was brought under control.
The exact cause of the fire has not been determined yet, but the fire brigade suspects that it was due to a short circuit.
The mall had a fire safety system in place, but it failed to work properly when the fire broke out.
