is something of a style icon, with fans always eagerly awaiting the looks she debuts for high-profile events.
From casual, day-to-day looks to full glamour and high fashion at red carpet events, no sartorial detail is too small for Meghan - which means she always looks impressively put together.
This includes her choices of accessories, and her enviable jewellery collection - which features one piece that comes with an extra special meaning and will one day be handed down to her daughter, , three. Ever since Meghan first got this piece - worth £7400 - she has planned to one day pass it on to her daughter, even long before she met her now-husband,
The piece in question is the two-tone Cartier French Tank watch, and Meghan admitted that she had long "coveted" and eventually "splurged" on the iconic piece after a huge professional moment in her acting career, and got a special engraving on the back of the watch.
"I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch," Meghan explained to magazine at the time. "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season - which, at the time, felt like such a milestone - I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version.
"I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.' and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."
Princess Lilibet is in store to inherit some other seriously special heirlooms one day. And she might even have two Cartier tank watches at some point because Harry gave Meghan another version of the piece that comes with a sentimental backstory.
Meghan's other tank watch - which she has often been seen proudly wearing since Harry gifted it to her, belonged to none other than one of the biggest fashion icons of the last century: the late Princess Diana.
Harry's mother, and Lilibet's grandmother, stipulated before her untimely death that she wanted her sons to share out her incredible jewellery collection when the time came. "I would like you to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it," Diana wrote in a letter.
The gold Cartier tank watch isn't the only piece of Diana's jewellery that Meghan has been given by Harry over the years, she has worn several of her late mother-in-law's iconic accessories over the years.
When , Meghan was spotted in a delicate cross pendant, which was reported to be part of Diana's "private collection".
During another foreign trip in 2018, Harry and Meghan went to , where the Duchess was spotted in a stunning pair of butterfly stud earrings that once belonged to Diana.
