Zalak Desai has come on board as Khyati Kothari in Anupamaa , which is produced by Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi . She said she is happy to join the show and shared that the show is a success because of the hard work put in by the cast and crew.

“The success of the show is because of the hard work of every single individual involved. Everyone is so dedicated to their own respective roles; be it the technicians or the actors. I really admire that about this team,” she said.

Talking about her character, she said, “I am playing the character of Khyati Kothari, Prem’s mother. She’s a very positive human being, someone who is very emotional, puts everyone else’s happiness above her own, and someone who everyone can relate to.”

She also confessed that a lot of her relatives are fans of Anupamaa, and they are quite excited to see her in their favorite show. She added, “Everyone I’ve worked with has messaged me and congratulated me on joining this show because it’s not just any other show; you know, it’s one of the top shows, a brand in itself.

Going by how popular the show is, Zalak mentioned that there is some pressure while performing the scenes. She said, “In fact, I did tell Rupali Ma’am on Day 1 that I was very nervous. There are so many senior actors I’m working with, so I’m definitely a little nervous.”

“And there’s a different expectation that comes along with this show considering it’s such a big hit! But I’m sure I’ll soon make my way into the audience’s hearts,” she added.

Asked how she prepares herself for any dramatic changes in her character, she said, “I like to take one situation at a time, as even as humans, we react differently in different situations. So I usually think, ‘What would my character do in this particular situation?’ and go ahead with that.”

She also revealed that with a new family entering the show, the audience can expect some new twists. She said, “I think there are going to be so many different dynamics with respect to the old family as well. The audience definitely has a lot to look forward to.”

Zalak is in awe of Rajan Shahi and credited him for being involved in every aspect of the making of the show. “It’s commendable to see how passionate he is. I’m really looking forward to working with him and his team,” she ended.
