However fate had something else in store for her. She was one of the most beautiful and talented actresses who tragically passed away at a young age under mysterious circumstances. This actress who ruled the Bollywood industry in the early 1990s became the highest-earning actress in India at the age of 18. But life took an unexpected turn and she passed away suddenly at the age of 19. We are talking about Divya Bharti. Divya Bharti’s name is included in the list of top actresses of the 1990s. In 1988 when she was in the ninth grade at a school in Mumbai she was signed by Nandu Tolani. However her debut film was cancelled and later Kirti Kumar helped her land a role in another film but she was replaced by someone else. Divya Bharti began her acting career in 1990 at the age of 16 with the Telugu film Bobbili Raja. She made her Bollywood debut in 1992 with the film Vishwatma. From then on her career soared. Tragically her career was cut short when she passed away in 1993. After her debut Divya became the first choice for directors. Audiences adored her performances on screen. She worked with Govinda in Shola Aur Shabnam and the film was a major hit at the box office. In 1992 alone she appeared in 12 films setting a record. After her untimely death the 12 films she was supposed to work in were offered to other actresses including Sridevi and Karisma Kapoor. Throughout her career Divya also worked with actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Sunil Shetty. Reports suggest that during her time Divya charged 50 lakh rupees for a film.
