These robots are designed to operate in challenging environments, reducing risk to soldiers. They were showcased at the Southern Command Investiture Ceremony at the BEG & Centre Parade Ground in Khadki. Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth, GOC-in-C Southern Command, presided over the event.

The ARCV MULE, developed by New Delhi-based AeroArc, a subsidiary of Arc Ventures (ARCV), is designed for various tasks. These include perimeter security, asset protection, handling hazardous materials (CBRNE), bomb disposal, and intelligence gathering.

The robotic mule, also known as Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULE), can be remotely controlled or operate autonomously. It consists of a computer, battery, front and rear sensors, and legs for mobility.

The Indian Army reportedly received 100 of these robotic mules in June 2024. These all-terrain robots are intended to improve soldier efficiency and safety in diverse environments. They can navigate stairs, steep inclines, and debris-filled areas. Designed for extreme temperatures (-40°C to +55°C) and with an IP-67 rating, they are suitable for diverse Indian terrains and are dustproof and water-resistant.

The robotic mules are versatile platforms. They can carry weapons, night vision and thermal cameras, drones, and a robotic arm for manipulating objects. They can also be equipped with chemical and radiation sensors.

Key features of the AeroArc Robotic Mule include:
- Weight: 51 kg
- Protection Rating: IP67 (dustproof and water-resistant)
- Operating Temperature: -45°C to 55°C
- Top Speed: 3 meters per second
- Battery Life (Standby): 20 hours
- Processor: NVIDIA Xavier
- Maximum Load Capacity: 12 kg
- Setup Time: 15 minutes

Eight contingents from various regimental centers marched in the parade. The event also showcased advanced weapons and combat vehicles. The Army’s motto, “Service Before Self,” reflects the dedication of its soldiers.

The Indian Army celebrated its 77th Army Day on Wednesday, commemorating Field Marshal KM Cariappa's appointment as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief in 1949. The event took place in Pune, marking the first time the Army Day parade has been held there.

The celebration honored Cariappa's leadership and India's military independence. The day also paid tribute to soldiers who died serving the nation. A key part of the celebration was the display of new military technology.

The 77th Army Day also included a “Know Your Army Mela” showcasing technological advancements. A Women Agniveer Contingent participated, alongside displays from various army contingents. The event aimed to highlight inclusivity, innovation, and the Army’s core values.
