Rayo Vallecano will travel to the Reale Arena for Thursday’s meeting with Royal Society in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.

The Basque outfit got the better of fourth-tier Ponferradina in the previous round, while Rayo dispatched Segunda Division’s Racing Ferrol to continue their cup journey.

We say: Real Sociedad 2-0 Rayo Vallecano

Rayo may have already won at the Reale Arena this season, but this time around, they will face a Real Sociedad side that have won five of their last six matches, and we think the hosts will make full use of home advantage to dispatch their fellow La Liga side in Thursday’s cup fixture.

Copa del Rey holders Athletic Bilbao will continue the defence of their trophy when they welcome health to San Mames for Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash.

Los Leones required penalties to see off Logrones in the previous round, while Los Rojillos edged out Tenerife to seal their place in the last 16.

We say: Athletic Bilbao 2-0 Osasuna

San Mames is widely regarded as one of the toughest grounds in Spain for teams to visit, and we think Athletic will make full use of home advantage at their Cathedral to get the better of an Osasuna side that have failed to win their four away games against top-flight opposition.

Real Madrid will look to bounce back from their Spanish Super Cup disappointment when they welcome Celta Vigo to the Santiago Bernabeu for Thursday’s Copa del Rey clash.

Los Blancos secured their place in the last 16 with a 5-0 win over Deportivo Minera, while Celta came from behind to beat Racing Santander in their third-round tie.

We say: Real Madrid 3-1 Celta Vigo

After suffering a demoralising defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final, Real Madrid will be determined to produce a positive response in Thursday’s cup fixture, and taking into account their recent run of five consecutive home wins, we think Los Blancos will sweep past Celta to reach the quarter-finals.
