Exclusive- Amit Behl mourns the loss of veteran actor Manjul Sinha; says, “Manjul was family”
Veteran actor and filmmaker Manjul Sinha ’s demise has left a significant void in the entertainment industry , and actor Amit Behl expressed his heartfelt condolences while reminiscing about their cherished bond. Speaking about the late Manjul, Amit shared profound memories of their friendship, which began in 1995, a time when communication was simpler and connections felt more personal.
“I first met Manjul Sinha ji in 1995 when mobiles weren’t even around. I had heard of him through various ads and shows and knew of his work from FTII. Our paths crossed through a friend, Aashish, who sent me a message on his behalf,” Behl recalled.
Their association quickly turned into a professional collaboration when they began working on a series together. “In a week or 10 days, we started shooting for a series. We shot 8-9 episodes, but the show didn’t take off with DD. Despite that, Manjul ji fought against all odds to cast me as the lead actor in their subsequent project.”
Manjul Sinha was more than a mentor to Amit; he became family. “Manjul was family. He was like a father to us. We would gather at his house, read scripts, and end the day with dinner together. When I started dating Vaibhavi, he was the first person I called.”
Amit also reflected on the warmth of their team gatherings, which revolved around great food and camaraderie. “Food was such an integral part of our meetings. Vinita ji would make the most amazing Bihari mutton, and we would all enjoy it together. Those were truly special times.”
As Amit mourns the loss of Manjul Sinha, he cherishes the memories of their deep bond and the legacy of warmth, creativity, and wisdom that Manjul left behind. “Manjul ji will be deeply missed, not just as an actor and filmmaker but as someone who brought people together and created lifelong bonds.”
