Listening to their pitch while Anupam Mittal says that they raised the temperature of the show, Vinita Singh calls Dyumna Madan 'Patakha'.

Shivom Sood and Dyumna Madan met at Woodstock school in Mussoorie and they became thick friends. Founded by 19-year-old Dyumna from Goa, Project Clay is the brainchild of a young entrepreneur who left formal education after completing 10th grade. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dyumna launched an online baking venture that earned Rs 8 lakhs in revenue, sparking her passion for business. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, she now aims to establish herself in the edtech industry.

Dyumna revealed her interesting story about bagging internships in two startups. She emailed two EdTech startup companies, then she moved to Bangalore. Talking about bagging the internships, she said, "For Bluelearn, when I was 15, I was watching a YouTube video of the founder. I sat and made timestamps for the YouTube videos. Then I coldDmed him and asked him if they were helpful. He replied very helpful and asked if I could make other videos as well. He offered to pay me Rs 100 but I asked for an internship in return. But he said, no not at this point. Then their company started putting 2 hour long podcasts. I emailed him again, boss I am still available. He asked me can you do content writing? I couldn't but I thought, kitna he tough hoga. I sat and learnt everything in a week. And then 150 college students applied for that position and I was the only one from high school. I got the job."

Namita Thapar was amazed hearing the story and called her crazy. Aman Gupta said, "Super".

In December, Dyumna appeared on Mini Shark Tank, where Ankur Warikoo awarded her a ₹2.2 lakh grant to grow her business. He advised her to prioritize one-on-one mentorship over running a summer camp business. By June, Dyumna and her partner Shivom, who hold equal 50-50 stakes, shifted their focus to assisting students with applications abroad through near-peer mentorship . Dyumna also shared that her father has been a strong influence, consistently discussing business strategies with her and encouraging her entrepreneurial journey.

During the pitch, Vinita jokingly asked Shivom how he manages Dyumna's boundless energy, to which he replied that he does his best to keep it under control. Namita complimented their dynamic, calling them a "perfect balance." Peyush Bansal praised Dyumna for her storytelling skills and leadership qualities, adding that he realized from their discussion that they wanted to be seen as capable entrepreneurs, not as kids.

They present a demo of their website for the Sharks. Project Clay operates currently via Whats App groups. Project Clay receives a commission for every session conducted between students and mentors. The average selling price is Rs 1980 per session out of which 54.5 percent goes to their mentors. Their gross margin is roughly around 45.5 percent.

Project Clay has made a revenue of Rs 22,900 in June, in July Rs 41,800, in August 90,600 and in September Rs 1,37,000, in October Rs 1,37,000. We have receivables of Rs 23,000 and have commitment of Rs 54,000 which will be by the end of the month. They will close FY24-25 by Rs 37 lakhs and are targeting next year 10X growth and make Rs 3.7 crores.

During the pitch, Peyush interrupted to ask about their concrete plan moving forward. Dyumna explained that schools had approached them to provide their services to 5,000 students. However, Vinita decided to step out, citing concerns about the business’s scalability and lack of a competitive moat. Peyush and Anupam also chose to back out, though they offered constructive feedback. Aman followed suit, expressing doubts about the trust factor with their mentors.

Namita, however, began by offering valuable advice to Dyumna, encouraging her to "respond, not react," and shared how failing to follow this principle had led to mistakes in her own life. She then made an offer of Rs 15 lakhs for 10% equity at a Rs 1.5 crore valuation—the exact terms Dyumna and Shivom had requested.

Namita seals the deal with Shivom and Dyumna.
