“Nhi’s family held the engagement ceremony and bride-price ritual this morning, adhering to traditional customs, as the day is considered auspicious and the couple’s ages are well-matched,” the source told Ngoi Sao on Wednesday. “Their wedding is scheduled for 2026, with invitations to be extended to family and friends.”
Previously, Nhi’s family maintained privacy regarding her relationship and wedding plans. A neighbor of the beauty queen’s family in Thanh Hoa City revealed that around two weeks before the engagement ceremony, Nhi’s parents began renovating their house and yard. It was then that the neighbors became aware of the upcoming occasion.
“Nhi usually keeps to herself due to her busy work schedule,” the neighbor shared. “Her family hadn’t mentioned anything about the engagement. We only learned about it when the house renovations began.”
Hiep, a neighbor living next door to Nhi’s family, said he met Hoang at Nhi’s brother’s wedding in Nov. 2024. He described Nhi as cheerful and friendly. He also noted that after the engagement ceremony, the beauty queen’s family hosted a small meal for friends, with very few relatives attending the ceremony itself.
At 23, Nhi represented Vietnam in the 2023 Miss International contest, where she placed in the top 15.
Her fiancé Hoang, 25, is the head of an automobile company. His father, Pham Nhat Vuong, has a net worth of $4.1 billion as of January 18, according to Forbes, making him Vietnam’s richest man.
The couple’s engagement ceremony took place on Wednesday in Thanh Hoa City under tight security, with a team of bodyguards present.
It is reported that the couple has known each other for a long time.
