Saif Ali Khan has been in the news for a while. The actor was brutally attacked during the early hours of January 16 2025. Following the incident the actor was rushed to Mumbais Lilavati Hospital. Currently he is doing better and has been shifted to a normal ward. As Saif made headlines due to the attack some of his old interviews have resurfaced online. One of these interviews features Saif speaking about his ex-wife Amrita Singh where he discussed their divorce settlement and more. Saif and Amrita were both well-known actors in the Bollywood industry. The duo got married in 1991 despite Saif being 12 years younger than Amrita Singh. They had two children Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan. However the couple parted ways in 2004. Their love story remains one of Bollywoods most talked-about tales showcasing how love can thrive despite societal challenges and differences. In a 2005 interview with The Telegraph Saif revealed that as part of their divorce settlement he was obligated to pay Amrita a total of Rs 5 crore half of which he had already paid. He explained I’m supposed to give Amrita Rs 5 crore of which I’ve already given her approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Also I’m paying Rs 1 lakh per month until my son becomes 18. I’m not Shah Rukh Khan. I don’t have that kind of money. Saif continued I’ve promised her I’ll pay up the rest of the money and I will even if I have to slog till I drop dead. Whatever I’ve earned from doing ads stage shows and films is being given for my children. I’ve no money. Our bungalow is for Amrita and the kids and never mind the relatives who’ve joined her after my departure. Their separation marked the end of one of Bollywoods most unconventional and widely discussed relationships.
