Making serious allegations against OpenAI, Suchir Balaji's mother Purnima Rao said "My son had documents against OpenAI. They attacked him and killed him." Also said that after his death "some documents were missing".

Purnima Rao, mother of whistleblower and former OpenAI researcher Suchir Balaji, has given an interview with Tucker Carlson in the US, in which she made serious allegations about her son's death and the opaqueness and secrecy in the world of artificial intelligence. She said that the makers of ChatGPT had killed my son to hide something in OpenAI that they did not want anyone to know.

Suchir Balaji was found dead in his San Francisco apartment in November. Earlier, he had become a whistleblower against AI giant OpenAI. Before his death, he had publicly raised ethical concerns about the actions of ChatGPT makers. After an initial investigation, officials concluded that his death was a suicide. However, his family has demanded an FBI investigation, highlighting several flaws and alleging that Balaji was murdered.

I celebrated my birthday a day before my death: Rao.

Rao recalled during the interview that the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner had declared his son's death a suicide. However, when Rao was asked if he thought he could have killed himself and if he was depressed, he said, "My son celebrated his birthday a day before his death. What more can we say than that he was in a happy mood? He also received a birthday gift from his father on the day he was found dead.

Making serious allegations against OpenAI, Rao said "My son had documents against OpenAI. They attacked him and killed him." He also said that after his death "some documents were missing".

"Everyone is suppressed, nobody is ready to come forward and tell the truth. Even the lawyers have been forced to say it was a suicide," he said, accusing the ChatGPT maker of suppressing the investigation and potential witnesses.

Elon Musk shared the video and said it is very worrying.

Elon Musk shared Suchir Balaji's mother's interview with Tucker Carlson on his x handle and called it "extremely worrying".

Criticising OpenAI, Suchir Balaji's mother blamed the authorities, saying, "It took them (authorities) more than 14 minutes to determine the cause of death and tell me that it was a suicide."

She criticised the police for withholding information and lack of transparency, saying, "I knew my son was dead the moment I saw the white van." She said the police kept making excuses for delaying the information. "In the evening they returned the keys to me and told me I could take the body tomorrow," she said
