The world no. 9 duo who had reached the semi-finals of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 the previous week started well and led 15-12 in the first game. However Goh and Izzuddin applied pressure at the net leading to errors from the Indian pair. The Malaysians won seven straight points to claim the first game.
In the second game the Indians fell behind early losing eight of the first 10 points. Despite a brief comeback with five consecutive points Goh and Izzuddin dominated exploiting the Indian duos serve and not allowing them to recover sealing the win with quick points and tactical smashes.
I think we should have closed down in the first game but credit to them they were really good in the service situations which we didnt really expect because probably we didnt prepare for it. Having said that we should have been little more calmer said Chirag.
