According to a feature tracker, the instant messaging platform is preparing a widget for Meta AI, which will allow users to instantly interact with the chatbot from the home screen itself.

Meta AI was added to WhatsApp in select regions in 2024, providing users with a basic way to interact with Meta's in-house chatbot. It is being told that this widget is currently in testing and has not been made available to beta testers.

According to a report by feature tracker WABetaInfo, this new feature has been seen in the WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.1.27 update, although this widget is still in the testing phase and is not visible to users. It is not clear when beta testers will be able to see and try this feature.

What will this widget look like?

According to the screenshots shared in the report, WhatsApp's new widget gives users access to Meta AI. It is a 4x1 size widget, which looks similar to the Google Search widget. The widget has a light grey background, a white text field, and a camera icon.
