and have been warned that the could completely destroy their image in America just as they gear up for their next big projects, reports have claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were , which painted a worrying picture of the couple's life across the pond.

Citing sources that have worked with Harry and Meghan, the outlet claimed they are considered "local villains" by residents of their Montecito suburb, while it also brought up towards staff, with sources saying she allegedly made people go into "therapy" after working with her.

The new claims follow previous accusations made against her behaviour last year and other ones made back in 2018 during her time as a working royal, the latter of which she has vehemently denied.

Now, three royal experts have shared their opinion on how the latest bombshell report could mean the end of the Sussexes's "American dream", per the .

Royal author Tom Bower dubbed the claims "devastating" for the duchess who is bracing for the release of her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, due to air on March 4.

He told the outlet: "Having strongly denied the accusations that she bullied her staff in Kensington Palace, the revival of her image of the Difficult Duchess who torments her staff into seeking therapy to alleviate the misery of working for Meghan is a disaster just on the eve of the launch of Netflix's 'With Love, Meghan'.

"Having invested so much to re-brand herself as a loving, caring Californian mother and wife, the VF disclosures have poisoned the smiling image of the welcoming homemaker. It's a bad weekend."

Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also claimed the latest report could put an end to the couple's plans and even damage their ongoing contracts, like the one with Netflix, which is due to end later this year.

He told the outlet: "Harry is portrayed as lost, out of his depth and naive. The Sussexes are attempting to project a caring image by helping some of those affected by the cataclysmic wildfires currently ravaging California. They won't get far after publicity is given to this.

"'Her With Love, Meghan cookery series is, judging from the trailer, saccharine and silly. Unenthusiastic online reaction might make the streaming giant think twice and dump it and, when their contract runs out later in the year, preserve very little of it, if any. They, especially Meghan, now have a lot to answer. Nobody likes bullies, especially entitled bullies!"

PR expert Nick Ede added that the new claims come at a particularly bad time for the Sussexes.

He explained: "They don't seem to be able to do anything right in the eyes of the media but now it seems in the eyes of their neighbours too.

"For such a well respected publication to go all out against the couple is bound to have negative effects on their brand and status and all eyes will be on them to see what happens next.

"Their brand keeps on getting battered and it feels that the tide is turning on them in the US and it's going to be hard for them to establish themselves properly as part of the Hollywood elite and as darlings of the nation which they obviously wanted."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been contacted for comment.

Last year, Meghan was dubbed "Duchess Difficult" by the Hollywood reporter, which claimed that her staff are allegedly "terrified" of her and her "belittling" behaviour towards them.

The claims sparked a media war, with different US outlets citing their own sources about Meghan's demeanour. Meghan declined to comment on those claims.

Those reports followed previous bullying allegations which were made against the Duchess back in 2018, which she has long and vehemently denied.

However, the couple were defended by one royal expert who said a recent wave of criticism after they visited victims of the LA fires is "disturbing".

Jennie Bond told the : "Harry and Meghan must have expected much of the criticism they received after their accusations about the rest of the Royal Family.

"But I find it disturbing that almost everything and anything they now do is still criticised, in my view, quite unfairly. They could have stayed holed up in their Montecito haven while so much of California burned."
