The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Friday launched the Sanchar Saathi mobile app, which is designed to facilitate the reporting of suspected fraudulent communications. This app allows the general public to mark and report such cases directly from the call log of their mobile phone. Let us tell you that earlier complaints could be made only through the Sanchar Saathi website, but now complaints of any kind of scam and fraud can also be lodged through the mobile app.
Sanchar Saathi App: Important step towards prevention of fraud
The 'Sanchar Saathi' portal, which was launched in 2023, has proved to be an effective measure against fraudulent calls. The new mobile app will further empower these efforts, ensuring a safe environment for the customers. Launching the initiative, Minister Scindia said, "The Sanchar Saathi initiative provides a safe and secure environment where the privacy and security of each customer is ensured." Sanchar Saathi app can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.

Through this app, the mobile user can know whether any other connections have been taken fraudulently in his name or not and can also block it.
Apart from this, in case of blocking by the original user, the system can check how many connections are in his name.
Users can also track and block the phone.
You can complain about any kind of scam and fraud.
Take the help of these steps to block and track the phone.
On the app and portal, you have to click on the option "Block Stolen / Lost Mobile".
Now you have to provide information related to the phone. Like model number, company, IMEI number, etc.
In the next section, upload the place and date of theft, police FIR number, and FIR copy.
Then you have to enter your personal information, which includes your government ID number, name, email ID, and mobile number.
After giving all the information, CEIR will put your phone on track. After this, whenever any other SIM is used in your phone, its location can be traced.
