Mixer grinder has made our kitchen work much easier. From grinding spices to making shakes and chutneys, every task is done instantly. But to keep the mixer safe and in good condition for a long time, it is important to use it properly. Some things should be avoided when grinding in the mixer as they can damage the blades and motor. Let us know which things should not be ground in the mixer.

1. Be careful while grinding standing spices

  • Grinding cinnamon, nutmeg, and other hard spices directly in the mixer runs the risk of breaking the blades.
  • First cut these spices into small pieces or grind them lightly, then use a mixer.

2. Do not use large ice cubes

  • Putting large ice cubes directly into the mixer while making cold coffee, shake, or lassi can damage the blades.
  • Cut the ice cubes into small pieces first or add the ice after grinding.

3. Avoid putting hot things

  • When hot liquid or other hot substance is added to the mixer, steam begins to form, which exerts pressure on the jar and lid.
  • This pressure may tear the jar or lid. Add hot things to the mixer only after they cool down.

4. Grind ginger and garlic in small quantities

  • Grinding ginger and garlic in small quantities causes their pieces to get stuck between the blades.
  • The blades become difficult to clean, which leads to foul smell in the jar. Grind them in sufficient quantity.

5. Do not grind coffee beans in a mixer

  • Grinding coffee beans in a mixer can cause hard pieces to get stuck in the blade, which can dull the blade's sharpness.
  • Use a special coffee grinder for this.

Tips for safe use

  1. Use the mixer as per its capacity.
  2. Clean the jar and blade thoroughly after every use.
  3. If the jar lid is becoming loose, replace it immediately.
