Sachin Tendulkar recalled two of his most memorable memories from his cricket career at the Wankhede Stadium during the festivities.

In order to have his mother see him play for the first time in his life, Tendulkar remembered asking the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to set his last match of his career in Mumbai in 2013.

“Before the announcement of my last match series, I contacted the BCCI and requested that my final match be played in Mumbai for the sole reason that my mother had never seen me play cricket, despite the fact that I had played for India for between 30 and 24 years. My mother’s health was not good enough at the time (during retirement) for her to go outside of Wankhede to see me play. I wanted her to understand why I’ve spent the last 24 years relocating. “That request was graciously accepted by the BCCI,” Sachin Tendulkar stated.

When Sachin Tendulkar knew that this was his final game for the country and that he would never play again, he struggled with a lot of emotions. Close-ups of his mother and other family members were shown on the large screen while he was hitting. He was attempting to concentrate on batting when the bits made him feel quite sad.

In a funny statement, the former cricket player expressed his wish that the people operating the large screen had a passport from the West Indies.

“The final game was emotional and bizarre, and I knew it would be the last. When I went to bat, I forced myself to control my emotions. I got a lot of respect from WI players and fans. My wife, mother, and family were featured in close-ups just before the final over. Since he played with my emotions while I tried to live, I assumed the person in charge of the screen must have had a West Indies passport. It seemed unreal when the match was ended, the last lap, and I was hoisted onto shoulders. These were penned by the Almighty, not planned. I will carry this experience with me till the day I die,” he said.

The former right-hander batter scored 74 runs in his lone innings in his last game.

Speaking about the 2011 World Cup victory at Wankhede Stadium, Sachin Tendulkar called it the highlight of his career.

“I was inspired in the same way when I saw the 1983 World Cup victory. like I ought to be holding a prize as well. He said, “There is nothing better than this; it was the best moment of my life.”

Due to an undefeated century by Mahela Jayawardene (113), as well as performances by captain Kumar Sangakkara (48), Tillakaratne Dilshan (48), and Thisara Perera (22*), Sri Lanka chose to bat first in the championship match and scored 274/6. Yuvraj Singh (2/49) and Zaheer Khan (2/60) were India’s best bowlers.

After openers Virender Sehwag and Tendulkar were dismissed early in the run chase, India first had trouble. India then won by six wickets thanks to innings from Yuvraj Singh (21*), MS Dhoni (91*), Virat Kohli (35), and Gautam Gambhir (97).

With 482 runs in nine games at an average of 53.55 and a strike rate of over 91, Sachin was India’s top scorer and the tournament’s second-highest run scorer. With the highest score of 120, he earned two fifties and two hundreds.
