Donald Trump began his second term as the US President by signing a series of executive orders. Trump, the 47th President of the US, signed a total of eight executive orders immediately after assuming office.
Pardon for over 1,500 capitol hill riotersOne of the first things Trump did in office was to pardon his supporters involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill riots.

Some 1,500 individuals, including leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, have been pardoned by Trump, who termed them "hostages." "Approximately 1,500 for a pardon – full pardon. We hope they come out tonight," Trump said.
TikTok gets 75 more daysAnother major decision taken by President Trump is to extend a lifeline to the Chinese social media app TikTok, which was set to be banned in the US from January 19.
With an executive order, Trump has allowed TikTok to operate for 75 more days in the US.
Trump says the United States as a country should broker a deal to own half of TikTok, which he estimated could be worth $1 trillion.
“I think the US should be entitled to get half of TikTok and, congratulations, TikTok has a good partner and that would be worth, you know, could be $500 billion,” Trump said.

Trump pulls US out of Paris Accord, WHOAnother sweeping change Trump has set in motion on day one is to pull the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Trump had done the same in 2017, but the US rejoined the 2015 historic deal under Joe Biden.
Trump also signed another executive order pulling the US out of the World Health Organization for a second time.
On Monday, Trump also signed an executive order temporarily suspending all US foreign assistance programmes for 90 days, pending reviews to determine whether they are aligned with his policy goals.

Trump promises tariffs on Mexico, CanadaThe US President also made his intention to fulfil another electoral promise. Trump said his administration will impose 25 per cent tariffs on Mexico and Canada on February 1.
