Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital following the knife attack at his Bandra residence on January 16, as per reports.

Earlier, wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and daughter Sara Ali Khan were seen reaching the hospital. Saif was injured during an alleged robbery attempt when an intruder broke into his home. He sustained multiple stab wounds, including a significant injury to his thoracic spine, which required surgery to remove knife fragments. He underwent two critical procedures-neurosurgery and plastic surgery.

Details of the Attack

Saif was allegedly attacked by Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, whom police have identified as a Bangladeshi national living in India without valid identity documents. To conceal his identity, Shahzad had reportedly adopted the name Vijay Das. According to the police, the accused has confessed to the crime. He was produced in a Bandra court on Sunday and was remanded to five days of police custody for further interrogation.

Key Evidence Against the Accused

Mumbai Police have gathered what they claim are the strongest pieces of evidence against Shahzad. Sources confirmed to The Indian Express that fingerprints lifted from the crime scene match those of the accused. Investigators discovered Shahzad's fingerprints on the bathroom window he used to enter and exit the house, the duct shaft, and the ladder he utilized to climb into the building.

The police took the accused to Saif Ali Khan's residence on the 11th floor of the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra as part of their investigation. He was asked to recreate the sequence of events, detailing how he gained access to the building and fled after his confrontation with the actor.

Kareena Kapoor Calls for Privacy

On Monday, Kareena Kapoor Khan took to social media to express her frustration with the paparazzi, accusing them of invading her family's privacy during this challenging time. Sharing an Instagram story, she wrote, "Stop this now. Have a heart. Leave us alone. For God's sake." Kareena had earlier issued a plea to the media, requesting them to respect her family's privacy for the sake of their security.
