Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is known for his work with critically acclaimed projects like Shahid (2012), Aligarh (2015), Faraaz (2022), and Scam 1992. He has now launched his company, True Story Films, in association with producer Sahil Saigal. The company will be supported by producers Vinod Bhanushali and Parag Sanghvi.
Hansal Mehta announced the launch on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of the Variety report and writing, “When your dream becomes a true story. Formally Presenting True Story Films.” Vinod Bhanushali also excitedly posted a photo with the collaborators on X, saying, “Excited to start a new journey with ones who share the same passion for storytelling at True Story Films! Here’s to making impactful films & series that connect with audiences everywhere.”

True Story Films will support a diverse slate of projects, including theatrical films and streaming content across genres. The company will start producing this year and will release its first film in 2026. The production house is valued at Rs 500 crore, which indicates that the company is all set for a massive future.
Hansal Mehta’s last directorial film was The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor. With True Story Films, Mehta continues his journey in storytelling, now expanding his influence from behind the camera to building a production powerhouse.
