A grand event was organised to celebrate the State Formation Day of Manipur and Meghalaya

Agartala: To mark the 53rd anniversary of the Statehood Day of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy organized a lavish ceremony in Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.

Indrasena Reddy, the governor of Tripura, told the media report that scientists, laborers, professionals, and students were all invited to the occasion.

“Everyone was welcomed, including scientists, professionals, laborers, and students. They were contacted on the unique characteristics of their states. What are the states’ histories, their contributions to the fight for independence, and the monuments honoring those who opposed the British? “The conversation about the states was excellent,” Tripura Governor Reddy said.

Chief Minister Manik Saha, meanwhile, was present at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala for the state-level commemoration of Statehood Day.

“Today marks the 53rd Statehood Day of Tripura, a significant milestone in the state’s journey,” said Manik Saha in a post on X. Statehood Day was celebrated at the state level at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala to mark this milestone, and wishes were sent to the state’s citizens.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Manipur’s citizens on their Statehood Day earlier in the day.

PM Modi wished the people of Tripura a happy Statehood Day in a post on X. The state is contributing significantly to the development of the country. It is renowned for its rich tradition and culture as well. I hope Tripura keeps reaching new development milestones.

In addition, President Droupadi Murmu wished the people of Manipur a happy Statehood Day.

President Murmu wrote, X: “Happy Statehood Day to the people of Meghalaya, Tripura, and Manipur! These states’ innovative citizens have significantly aided in the nation’s progress. I send my warmest wishes for a successful and tranquil future to the people of these states. May their rich biodiversity, lively customs, and varied culture all thrive.

After the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act was passed, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura gained their independence in 1972.

The states in the country’s strategically important northeastern area were reorganized by the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act of 1971. On January 21, 1972, Manipur and Tripura were awarded statehood under this Act, whereas Meghalaya was separated from Assam because of its different topography.
