Agartala: With the second-highest Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in the Northeast, Tripura has accomplished a noteworthy milestone.
At Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan on Tuesday, Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted Tripura’s outstanding growth and success while announcing this accomplishment on the state’s 53rd Statehood Day.
In the next days, the state’s GSDP growth is anticipated to help boost the national GDP. CM Saha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their steadfast assistance, which has allowed Tripura to continue on its growth path.
“Tripura has entered a new chapter, and today serves as a reminder of the individuals who have dedicated their lives to the advancement of the state,” the chief minister said. He commended the Central Government for its timely help at difficult times, especially the floods in 2024, when more NDRF troops, helicopters, and resources were sent to aid the state. With the assistance of the central government, Tripura managed to recover from the flood despite suffering enormous losses in every sector.
CM Saha underlined how crucial peace is to sustaining growth and advancing tourism. He pointed out that the state had maintained peace and stability by swiftly resolving problems.
The chief minister also outlined the state’s major accomplishments in a number of domains. Tripura went from being a performing state to a leading, first-moving state in terms of the Sustainable Development Goals in 2023–2024. Tripura is making development in every area,” Saha said.
He said that the state’s income is Rs 3,700 crore, while its budgetary allotment is Rs 28,000. Tripura has around Rs 10,000 crores left over after spending the budget on wages and other areas. Of this, 25% goes to TTAADC, and 10% goes to ULBs and other organizations.
He went on to say that PM Modi has provided Tripura with the HIRA model, which included the state’s first internet connection, better aviation services, and roadways.
“A lot of individuals are now traveling here to invest from outside the state. The UNNATI Schemes and the Tripura Startup Policy have been launched. Along with launching the CM Jan Arogya Yojana, the state administration has been attempting to develop good governance. Since women make up around half of the population, PM Modi has always placed a strong emphasis on their empowerment. In this context, there are already 56,000 SHGs,” he said.
In recognition of people who have had a major influence on the advancement and development of the state, 15 distinguished honors, including the State Civil honors and Statehood Day Awards, were given out at the event to individuals for their exceptional accomplishments.
